Why Upper Pond Farm CSA?
We believe you should have access to healthy food grown without harmful chemicals.
The best way for us to do this is by growing delicious vegetables and fruits, and providing them to our community. Our Community Supported Agriculture project is the embodiment of these values.
Believe in feeding yourself and family healthy, local produce? We do. Our CSA is simply this: a subscription to the weekly bounty from our farms. Our CSA features the most loved vegetables, fruits and greens. We introduce you to great new veggies, and provide you with support to eat and cook all of your share.
2019 CSA Share Program
Each week you will pick up 7 to 9 different vegetable, herbs, roots, greens and dried bean items fresh from our farm. Your share will have some elements of choice, and you will access a whole table of extra produce.
The last week of the your share will be a double share, containing fresh greens and roots to carry you into winter. The week of Thanksgiving the share schedule is adapted for the holiday; you’ll pick up a double share the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Your share will include large quantities of Thanksgiving type veggies like winter squash and sweet potatoes.
Medium Share: Sized for two people who try to consume vegetables daily. A vegetable and fruit lover will thrive on these different items. This share will cost $275 for 9 weeks worth of veggies over 7 weeks.
Large Share: Sized for a family who eat vegetables daily. Also great for two people who love lots of fruits and vegetables and want enough to preserve for winter. This share will cost $400 for 9 weeks worth of vegetables, over the course of 7 weeks.
All of our shares come with full access to our pick your own patch at New Mercies and our weekly Newsletter teaching and supporting you in getting the most out of your share.
Friday Pick up at St. Ann's from 4:30 to 5:30PM. St. Ann’s is conveniently located near I 95 in Old Lyme.
Saturdays at New Mercies Farm from 10AM to 12PM. Enjoy complimentary PYO herbs at our farm! We also have rabbits grazing our fields.
You can pick up your share from our walk-in cooler Saturday afternoon through Monday afternoon, if you miss your scheduled pick up. No need to let us know, just help yourself to a wooden crate of veggies.
We grow over 40 different crops each year. Your share will strongly feature fresh salad greens, tomatoes, strawberries and much more. A list of our crops is below.
Scallions, onions, garlic, dry beans, salad mix, head lettuce, arugula, microgreens, spinach, mustard greens, cooking greens (kale, broccoli, swiss chard), kohlrabi, fresh roots like carrots, beets, hakurei turnips and radishes. Winter squash, pumpkins (decorative and baking), sweet potatoes and potatoes. We will grow ginger, turmeric and Brussels sprouts as well.
Your share will have 7-9 different vegetables and fruits each week, with cooking ideas and nutrition information. As part of your share you will have access to our farm extras and seconds, from which you can take as much as you can use. Your share is transferable, so if you cannot pick up, you can gift your share to someone else. Monday afternoon unclaimed perishables in your share will be donated to Free Store Connecticut, Farmer’s Kitchens or the Shoreline Soup Kitchen.
